PHOTOGRAPHY RESTORATION

I work closely with clients to understand the history of each photograph in order to ensure that the integrity of the image is best represented in its restoration. Once the initial project is assessed, it is assigned a workload rate, simplifying the payment process for the client and eliminating the risk of last-minute surprises.

BASIC

This image shows light wear and tear, minimal fading, scratching or damage. Basically, what you'd expect to see from something that's been on display in the sunshine for many years.

MODERATE

Images in this category show damage similar to a crease or fold in a vital area, significant fading or discoloration throughout, or scratches that require more focused and time-consuming attention.

SEVERE

An image classified as significant requires quite a bit of time to correct. This image would have several tears, water or fire damage, fading to the point of complete hand coloring to restore.

CUSTOM

Now things are getting serious!

This is the category for images that are heavily damaged; complete sections are mission, it's been torn into multiple pieces, or requires additional research in order to properly complete.

Projects in this category require a custom quote.

SCANNING & PRINTING

It's not uncommon to be going through old boxes of albums only to find strange, oddly shaped, or otherwise, huge looking negatives. Before the 1970s, not many people used 35mm cameras and finding someone to scan these beauties can be tricky. I work carefully with each item to not only scan them, regardless of shape and size, but help you decipher the image and determine whether or not they should be printed or simply preserved digitally.

Scanning rates are determined by quality and quantity,

but I love a good mystery and seeing faces light up when clients realize what's been recovered.
